police-light-bar1.jpgA man was critically wounded in an altercation over a car break-in in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said.

The attack was reported at about 2 a.m. Sunday near Polk and Elm streets.

The 23-year-old victim got into an altercation with four people about his car being broken into, according to police. The suspects attacked the victim, beating him unconscious, then ran away.

They had not been found as of this morning, police said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with head injuries that are considered life-threatening, according to police.
