police-light-bar1.jpgTwo people were hospitalized when a car crashed into a bar in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood on Sunday night, a fire department spokeswoman said.

The accident was reported at 9:08 p.m. at the Hi-Tide Lounge at 600 Geary St.

The car crashed into the side of the building, injuring two people inside the vehicle, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

Both victims were taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for their injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, Talmadge said.

City building inspectors were called out to survey the damage to the bar, and they determined that the building was not structurally compromised in the crash, Talmadge said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
