potlede.jpgTwo indoor marijuana growing operations were uncovered and three people arrested Thursday in a series of raids in Daly City and San Francisco, police said today.

Thursday’s arrests were the culmination of a three-month multi-agency undercover investigation targeting a close-knit Asian drug trafficking group, said Mark Alcantara, commander of the San Mateo County Narcotics Task Force.

Police seized more than 640 marijuana plants, seven pounds of processed marijuana and $1,700 in suspected drug profits from two homes on Daly City’s Lycett Circle. The marijuana had an estimated street value of $250,000, Alcantara said.

Police arrested Daly City resident Huaming Wang, 50, and San Francisco residents Ying Sheng Dou, 48, and Luquan Wang, 48. All three face charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, criminal conspiracy and theft of utilities.

Bail was set at $100,000 each and all three men have been released from custody following their arrest. They are scheduled to be arraigned in San Mateo County Northern Superior Court at 9 a.m.

The growing operations are believed to have been operated by a for-profit Asian drug trafficking group that is not affiliated with any medical marijuana group, Alcantara noted. The investigation into the group’s activities is ongoing.
