The San Francisco Giants are hosting their 11th annual holiday party this afternoon for children and families from local homeless shelters.

Pitcher Barry Zito is scheduled to attend the party, which treats children to pizza, beverages, dessert, face painting, a magic show, and visits from Santa Claus and Giants’ mascot Lou Seal.

The 250-plus children and their families expected to participate come from various local organizations, including the Homeless Prenatal Program, St. Joseph’s Village Family Center, Hamilton Family Center, Compass Family Services and Holy Family Day Home.

The party is taking place this afternoon in the Field Club Lounge at AT&T Park.
