policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man was stabbed in the back as he was walking along a street in San Francisco’s Mission District on Saturday night, police said.

The stabbing was reported at 8:32 p.m. in the 3100 block of 26th Street, which is between Harrison and Treat.

The 25-year-old victim was walking down the street when he was approached by a suspect who stabbed him in the upper left part of his back, according to police.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect fled and had not been found as of today. Anyone with information about the stabbing is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444.
