It was quite the party, and the most fun advertisement ever.

“Mouth Taped Shut,” the Trent Reznor led promotion team for the upcoming Girl With the Dragon Tattoo film teamed up with HARD, the electro event company. And together they created a genius movie ad.

The free show at the Warfield on Friday night brought Major Lazer, James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem), Proxy and Eye to a packed house. It was put on to give the movie and the soundtrack, which Reznor scored, a good name. But there were no annoying movie spokespeople, no forest destroying amounts of fliers, just a top notch electronic smash up. A big old party. What better way to grab the attention of their young, edgy market?

Reznor told Rolling Stone his goal was to create a concert where people would leave and say, “Wow, that was great. Oh, and it was free. Fuck, it was pretty cool.” Mission accomplished.
