A fatal collision involving a motorcycle and car is blocking two lanes on the Bay Bridge this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision between a motorcycle and a gray Toyota Avalon occurred around 10:45 a.m. on westbound Interstate Highway 80 near the S-curve, a CHP spokesman said.
The motorcyclist was ejected and thrown against the wall and fencing on the north side of the bridge, suffering fatal injuries. The driver and passenger in the Toyota were not injured.
The two right lanes were closed for the investigation as of 11:45 a.m., causing traffic delays. Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes and avoid the area.
The lanes were expected to open around 12:15 p.m., the CHP said.
