potlede.jpgAccording to a press release sent by the SFPD, two suspects are now in custody after a home invasion medical marijuana robbery that occurred last Friday, November 4 in the 400 block of 9th Ave. in the Richmond district.

At around 1:15pm Friday, police say 18-year-old Carey Harvell II and 19-year-old Aivan Eugene Acala (both of Alameda) went to the residence of a 24-year-old man who sells medical marijuana from his home.

The suspects were responding to an online ad for the pot placed Friday morning and were soon at the man’s residence after a brief text exchange.

One of the suspects went to use the bathroom, allegedly emerging with a silver handgun, which he pointed at the victim and the victim’s roommate.

Together Harvell and Acala allegedly made off with three large bags of marijuana.

The victim immediately called 911. A Richmond Station police officer on a motorcycle saw the men running southbound on Ninth Avenue at Anza Street.

He followed the two men and saw them enter a 1991 red Toyota Celica at Ninth Avenue and Balboa Street. He ordered them out of the car.

Harvell and Acala were then taken into custody without incident and identified by the victim and his roommate as the suspects, police said. Officers recovered the marijuana and loaded gun.

Both men are charged with robbery, burglary, illegal weapon possession, conspiracy, and various narcotic charges.

They remain in custody.
