pg&e_blackout(2).jpgNearly 2,400 PG&E customers lost power in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood this morning when a seagull flew into overhead power lines, a utility spokesman said.

The outage was reported at 9:23 a.m., and affected about 2,385 customers in the area of Sixth and Shipley streets, PG&E spokesman Jason King said.

Crews responded and de-energized the line to ensure the safety of people in the area, King said.

Power was restored shortly after 10 a.m.
