Police officers in riot gear are facing off with Occupy SF protesters who have been demonstrating in San Francisco’s Union Square area this afternoon.

The protesters gathered earlier today and have blocked intersections and disrupted San Francisco Municipal Railway service.

Police were not immediately available for comment.
