A man was robbed after being invited to an apartment in San Francisco’s Bayview District by a woman on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The robbery was reported at about 1 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Palou Avenue.
The 39-year-old victim said he had met a woman several days earlier who invited him to have lunch at her apartment on Tuesday, according to police.
The man told police that he was about to get intimate with the woman when the doorbell rang. The woman insisted on answering it, and suddenly three masked men entered, one of whom pointed a gun at the victim, police said.
The suspects went through the man’s pants and took cash, car keys and his cellphone. All three then left, and the woman was also nowhere to be found, according to police.
The victim was not injured during the robbery.
Officers responded and talked to another resident at the apartment
complex who said no woman lived at the apartment where the robbery occurred.
Officers then spotted a man on the roof of the building and detained him for questioning.
The man said he lived in the apartment where the robbery had occurred but was hiding because he had a warrant out for his arrest. Officers confirmed he lived in the apartment, but a check of his criminal record revealed no warrant, police said.
The robbery victim refused to cooperate further with police, and no arrests had been made as of this afternoon.
