bart_generic.jpgA man who was fatally struck by a BART train at the 24th Street Mission station in San Francisco on Sunday afternoon has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 81-year-old David Lee.

Lee was struck by a San Francisco International Airport-bound train around 3:25 p.m., BART officials said.

He apparently lay down on the tracks in front of the oncoming train, an agency spokeswoman said.

The incident forced the closure of the station and resulted in service delays for a couple of hours on Sunday.
