According to a text message sent from from the Occupy SF camp, and confirmed by multiple media outlets, Saturday afternoon SF’s public works department has removed tents from the encampments at both Justin Herman Plaza and in front of the Federal Building.

“DPW and police at OccupySF right now, removing tents from part of camp and 101 Market” read one text, sent at 12:42 today. A follow-up text read “Support needed at occupySF immediately! DPW is confiscating tents at JHP and the Federal Buliding! Please come to 101 NOW!”

According to the Chron, “dozens” of tents were removed from the two encampments.

No arrests have been reported at publication time.
