shooting_nighttime.jpgA woman escaped serious injury when someone shot at her in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Sunday evening, police said.

The shooting was reported at 7:29 p.m. in the 1000 block of Fitzgerald Avenue.

Police said a black four-door Lexus approached the 49-year-old victim and a passenger got out of the car and fired multiple shots at her.

The bullets missed the woman, but her left elbow was cut by glass from a car window that was shattered by the gunfire, police said.

The suspects fled in the Lexus and remain large.

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
