monopoly_money.jpgA man was stabbed in the back after refusing to give money to another man in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood early this morning, police said.

The stabbing was reported at 12:54 a.m. in the 900 block of Howard Street.

The 54-year-old victim was walking along Howard Street when the other man approached and asked for money, according to police.

When the victim refused to give him any, the suspect stabbed him in the back and then fled, police said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.

The suspect, a man in his mid- to late 30s, had not been found as of this morning, police said.
