bomb.jpgAn area in the 800 block of Woolsey Street in San Francisco that was blocked off for hours today has been reopened to traffic, according to city officials.

A police explosive device unit first arrived on the scene at around 10:45 a.m. after receiving a call about a suspicious package on the street near John McLaren Park, police said.

The public was advised to avoid Woolsey Street between Dartmouth and Bowdoin streets this afternoon in the interest of public safety and to prevent traffic pileups.
