sfpd_squad.jpgA woman was carjacked in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, police said.

The carjacking was reported at about 2:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Grove Street near Laguna Street.

The 37-year-old victim was double-parked on the street and looking at a map when a man approached, pulled on the door handle and ordered the woman out of the car, according to police.

The victim got out of the car, a four-door silver Mazda, and said she saw a bag over the suspect’s hand but did not see if he had a weapon, police said.

The suspect, a white man in his late 40s or early 50s, got into the car and drove away north on Laguna Street. He had not been found as of today, according to police.
The victim was not injured in the carjacking.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
