At about 4:40 a.m. Saturday, a cab driver came into the Police Department’s Ingleside Station at 1 John V. Young Lane near Balboa Park to report that a passenger was refusing to pay.

An officer went outside to talk to the passenger, who was under the influence of alcohol and rambling incoherently, according to police.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of being intoxicated in public, and when she was brought into the police station to be processed, she kicked the officer in the leg, police said.

The woman, whose name has not been released, was then arrested on suspicion of battery on a police officer.
