police-light-bar1.jpgA man was injured in a stabbing in San Francisco’s Mission District on Wednesday night, police said.

The stabbing was reported in the 500 block of South Van Ness Avenue at 8:50 p.m.

The victim, a 51-year-old man, suffered a stab wound to the chest and a cut to his shoulder, and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital, police said.

As of early this morning, the victim was in stable condition, a lieutenant at the department’s Mission Station said.

The suspect, a 48-year-old woman, was taken into custody.
