A switching problem at San Francisco Municipal Railway’s West Portal station is causing delays of up to 40 minutes across the light-rail system, a Muni spokesman said.
Delays are affecting travel in both directions on all Muni Metro lines between the West Portal station and The Embarcadero, spokesman Paul Rose said. Bus shuttles are supplementing service between those stations.
As of 2:45 p.m., crews were still working to fix the problem before the evening commute.
“The trains are still running, just slower than normal,” Rose said.
