taxi.jpgSan Francisco police have made an arrest in connection with a recent series of robberies of taxi drivers, a police spokesman said today.

At least four cabbies have been robbed at the same intersection–O’Farrell and Beideman streets in the city’s Western Addition neighborhood–since mid-August, police said.

Police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said today that an arrest has been made in the case, but declined to release further information, including the name of the suspect.

In the robberies, a man would hail a cab and ask to be taken to that intersection, then upon arrival he would pull out a knife and demand money from the driver, according to police.

The most recent case was reported on Sept. 12. None of the taxi drivers were injured in the robberies.
