booze.jpgHey Bay Area: What’s more patriotic and laborious than getting terribly drunk on terrible domestic beer and grilling the shit out of some prime hotdogs and hamburgers? If you answered “nothing,” you should probably be aware of this Saturday’s DUI checkpoint, especially if you’re living up your Labor Day in the city.

Everyone’s favorite multi-jurisdictional crackdown on drunk driving begins at 8:30pm September 3, at 14th and Mission.

Originally the checkpoint was planned for 19th Ave., says SFPD, but maybe folks are more drunk in the Mission?

Either way, the checkpoint marks the last of SFPD’s 18-day summer DUI mobilization, which began August 19 and has resulted in 123 arrests, compared with 89 from last year’s campaign.

As SFPD Capt. Al Casciato says “If people are still drinking and driving after all this time, we’re there to arrest them and take them to jail.” Don’t be arrest number 124!
