police-light-bar1.jpg4:35 PM:The California Highway Patrol has cleared a crash involving as many as seven vehicles that blocked a portion of U.S. Highway 101 for nearly an hour this afternoon.

The crash was reported at about 3:20 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 just north of Cesar Chavez, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

One vehicle overturned, blocking the two right lanes until about 4:20 p.m., Bartlett said.
No one was seriously injured, Bartlett said.

Traffic remained heavy in the area as of 4:25 p.m., and motorists were advised to use southbound Interstate Highway 280 to leave San Francisco.

4:14 PM: A crash involving as many as seven vehicles is blocking two lanes of U.S. Highway 101 in San Francisco this afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The crash was reported at about 3:20 p.m. on southbound Highway 101 just north of Cesar Chavez, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.

One vehicle overturned, blocking the two right lanes, Bartlett said. No one was seriously injured, Bartlett said.

Traffic was restricted to two lanes and continued to be extremely heavy through the area as of 4 p.m.

A Sig-alert was issued at 3:52 p.m., and the highway was expected to be blocked for at least another 45 minutes.
