Only one new series premiere tonight, but it’s surrounded by a few returning shows.

The CW:

“The Secret Circle,” 9 P.M.

What Is It?: Another supernatural teens drama, this time focusing on a girl (“Life Unexpected”‘s Britt Robertson) who finds out she’s a witch after her mother dies. She, along with some other teenage witches, must band together to learn about the secrets in their past in order to fight the dangers in their present.

Why To Watch: It’s based on a book series by “The Vampire Diaries” author L.J. Smith, and is produced by Kevin “Scream” Williamson, who also produces the TV version of “Diaries,” so, if you’re a fan of that, you might become a fan of this.

Why To Turn the Channel: You aren’t a fan of “Vampire Diaries,” and are sick and tired of supernatural teen stories.

Returning Shows:

The CW:

Speaking of “The Vampire Diaries,” it returns at 8 P.M., with promises that Stefan will, once again, turn to the dark side, which might mean some romance between Elena and Damon. Meanwhile, there will definitely be some werewolf/vampire lovin,’ as Tyler and Caroline are drawn to each other…

FX:

This season on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” Mac gains 50 pounds, because being fat is instant comedy! It’s on at 10 P.M., and is followed by “Archer,” which returns for three weeks of new episodes, at 10:30 P.M.
