Last night at around 8 PM I was listening to the the EMS/SFFD scanner, and there was a report of a body found at Baker Beach. Can you find out what happened?

According to SFFD spokesperson Lt. Mindy Talmadge, SFFD responded to a call of a body that washed up at Baker Beach Tuesday night.

She says that “there was a report earlier in the day of someone jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge,” and that officials believe that it’s possible that the remains found were that person.

A call to the SF Medical Examiner’s office for more details on the deceased has not been returned at publication time. We’ll update when it is. Update 3:16: According to Richard Vetterli with the ME’s office, the body, which he says is female, has yet to be identified. “Hopefully we’ll have an ID by this afternoon.”

It’s worth nothing at this time that San Francisco Suicide Prevention offers a number of hotlines, including a 24-hour crisis line at (415) 781-0500. People who are considering taking their own life are urged to call them, or the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK.
