sfo_aerial.jpgA total of 41 flights from San Francisco International Airport to the East Coast have been cancelled today due to severe weather caused by Hurricane Irene, an airport duty manager said.

All airports in the northeast have been closed over the weekend in a massive infrastructure shut down that has affected millions.

Airport officials said that no flights are leaving the northeast region today, with the exception of Dulles International Airport in Washington, D.C.

As of 10:30 a.m. no flights are scheduled to be canceled Monday, and while there may still be announcements of cancellations, airport traffic may be back on schedule tomorrow.
