policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man was shot while he was sitting in his car in San Francisco’s Bayview District early this morning, police said.

The shooting was reported at about 3:55 a.m. near the intersection of Shafter Avenue and Jennings Street.

The 38-year-old victim was sitting in the car when a female fired a shotgun through the passenger door of the vehicle, according to police.

The bullet struck the man in the upper lip, and he was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect has not been found as of this morning. Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
