police-light-bar1.jpgA man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was hit in the head with a bottle and then slammed to the ground in an attack near San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf early Sunday morning, police said.

The attack was reported at about 1:35 a.m. near the intersection of Beach and Leavenworth streets.

The 26-year-old victim suffered a major head injury in the assault and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, according to police.

The suspect, a man in his 30s, fled and had not been found as of today. No other information about the attack was immediately available.
