policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man was beaten unconscious during a robbery in San Francisco’s mid-Market neighborhood on Thursday night, police said.

The robbery was reported at 10:35 p.m. near the intersection of Market and Sixth streets.

The 20-year-old victim was approached from behind by a suspect who punched him and took his cellphone, according to police.

The suspect ran away and was pursued by the victim, but a second suspect intervened and punched the victim multiple times until he lost consciousness, police said.

The male suspects, both in their late teens, fled and had not been found as of this morning.

The victim suffered minor injuries but refused transport to a hospital, according to police.
