Men aiding battered woman in Mid-Market get stabbed
Yesterday at around 7 pm, police were called to Seventh and Market after two people had reportedly been stabbed. The two victims reportedly came to the aid of a woman, 43, who had been punched by a man. The stabbing victims were two men, ages 37 and 47. The suspect, a 52-year-old man, allegedly used a folding knife, stabbed the men, and fled. No arrests have been made and the victims’ injuries were non-life threatening.
Yesterday morning at Arriba Juntos, firefighters and paramedics responded to reports of a fight. A firefighter on the scene described it as, “a shoving match. It’s lame.” The fight broke out reportedly over someone cutting in the line of the food bank. No one was injured, but those in line still called the main perpetrator a drama queen.
Wednesday at around 10:40pm, a 28-year-old man was robbed and threatened near 22nd and Church St. Four men in their late teens, one of whom had a bandana over his face, began walking towards him. As the victim attempted to flee, the suspects surrounded him. The suspect with the bandana reportedly placed his hand on the victim’s ribcage while another threatened to punch him if he didn’t hand over his possessions. The victim complied, the alleged muggers ran, but were subsequently caught and arrested by police.
Parking garage thieves very particular about their choice of car
A pair of picky carjackers are on the loose after reportedly holding up a city parking garage Wednesday morning. The two armed robbers drove up to the parking garage on the first block of Fifth Street in a silver BMW, right as the garage opened at 6am. They gained access to the booth and put a gun to the attendant’s head, demanding the keys to an Acura parked nearby.
What’s really unique about this case is that, in order to get to the prized Acura, the men had to move a Nissan. Finding the Nissan undesirable, they left it running as one suspect left in the BMW and the other took the Acura. They also took $180 and the video tape from the parking garage’s security camera. One suspect is described as white, in his early 30s, around 6’2″ and weighing 200 lbs with blond hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans. The other suspect’s age is unknown but he’s been described as being white, about 6’1″ and weighing 180 lbs. He was wearing a black wig and blue jeans at the time of the crime.
