taxi.jpgA taxi driver was robbed in San Francisco’s North of Panhandle neighborhood early Sunday morning, police said.

The robbery was reported at about 4:10 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Grove and Lyon streets.

The 66-year-old cabbie picked up three men, and one demanded money from him, according to police.

The suspects searched the driver and stole cash from him, then two of the men hit him in the head with their handguns, police said. The men then got out of the cab and fled.

The suspects, all described as men in their early- to mid-20s, had not been found as of this morning, according to police.

The cabbie was not seriously injured in the attack.
