bart_generic.jpgThere are many ways to celebrate the 4th of July and BART can bring you to almost all of them. As the A’s take on the Mariners at 1:05pm and the Giants face the Padres at 2:05pm that Monday, BART will be running extra trains and longer trains. They’ll also be running extra trains for those headed to the Embarcadero to watch the fireworks display.

Since Monday’s a holiday, BART will be running on a Sunday schedule, and service won’t start until 8 AM. The 4th of July is also a parking holiday for BART which means parking is free.

In other news, BART has been hard at work repairing and maintaining tracks on the Pittsburg/Bay Point line. They start up work again July 1st at 9pm and finish the 4th at 4am.

Those traveling northbound on the Pittsburg/Bay Point line should expect delays of around 15-20 minutes while those traveling southbound will only be hit with a 5 minute delay or so.

BART resumes work on the tracks July 10-13, 22-25, July 29-August 1, August 12-15, 19-22, and 26-29.
