Speakeasy Heavy Metal BBQ & Happy Hour
Speakeasy Ales and Lagers are hosting a Heavy Metal BBQ and happy hour this Friday, where they will be serving $3 beers and BBQ provided by Good Foods Catering, La Laguna Taqueria, and Loaded Sausages. There will be a free brewery tour at 4:30 and live music at 7pm courtesy of Diamond Lane!

Saturday, July 23rd
15th Annual Graffiti Arts Festival
The Urban Youth Arts Festival is coming to Potrero del Sol this Saturday with live music, DJs, a skate competition, and over 2,000 square feet of portable wall space. The event, which takes place every year, allows artists of all ages to participate with free paint, brushes, and spray cans. Previous years have offered free food, so keep your fingers crossed. The best art pieces are exhibited throughout the year at various galleries.
So head to Potrero del Sol this weekend to test out your graffiti skills!

Sunday, July 24th
LaborFest Book Fair and Poetry Reading
LaborFest 2011, the 19th annual labor cultural arts festival, lasts all month. The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts is helping to celebrate by hosting the LaborFest Book Fair and Poetry Reading – a full day of activism, poetry, books and lectures. Check out the schedule to learn about the different readings and events taking place all day long.

3rd Annual Peruvian Food Festival
Hungry? Why not stop by the 3rd Annual Peruvian Food Festival in the Civic Center?
Explore Peruvian cuisine from one (or more) of the 20 different participating restaurants. Beer and Pisco will be available to quench your thirst while you enjoy traditional music, dances, culture, food and more.

When: 10 am- 7 pm
Cost: Free, but food and drink available for purchase.

Indie Mart DIY Art & Music Party
If you can’t decide what you feel like doing this Sunday, the Indie Mart offers it all– food, booze, workshops, a photobooth, and a gathering of artists, screenprinters, musicians, and illustrators! Crafts will be available to make and buy, and there will be a DIY Competition and a Soul & Oldies Dance Competition. Admission donations go to the founder Kelly Malone’s cancer treatment.

Cost: $3-5 sliding scale donation
