A brawl between teenage girls in San Francisco on Monday night led to a skirmish with officers, police said.
Officers responded to Third Street and Newcomb Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. and found between 12 and 14 teen girls fighting.
Police said at least one parent tried to break up the fight.
Officers requested backup and used pepper spray to end the brawl as crowds gathered at the scene, police said.
Police said bottles were thrown at officers, who formed a “skirmish line” and used a public address system to disperse the crowds.
A person with a gun was spotted, but officers were unable to detain the suspect due to the size of the crowd, police said.
One man was arrested for public intoxication, police said.
