booze.jpgAccording to a release sent by SFPD, local cops and the CHP will be providing “enhanced” enforcement of drinking and driving laws this holiday weekend.

As part of that enhancement, police say they’ll be running a DUI checkpoint at Lombard and Divisadero from Friday July 1 at 8:30 PM to early in the morning of Monday, July 4. That is one long DUI checkpoint.

According to Capt. Al Casciato, chairman of the crackdown, “now even drunk drivers hate drunk drivers.” What a sobering (heh) thought, to be despised by your own kind.

Citizens who see suspected drunk driving behavior are urged to call 911 immediately.
