shooting_nighttime.jpgA man was pistol-whipped during an attempted carjacking in San Francisco’s Sunnydale neighborhood on Tuesday night, police said.

The attack was reported at about 10 p.m. in the first block of Brookdale Avenue.

The 26-year-old man was in his car when two men approached and one pointed a handgun at him, according to police.

The suspects demanded the victim’s car and when he refused, one of them hit him in the face with the gun and then they both ran away, police said. They had not been found as of this morning.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not life-threatening.
