IMBIBE at the Library
Books, free drinks, snacks, and outer space? This event immediately caught my eye! This Friday, the Marina Branch of the San Francisco Public Library is combining some of my favorite activities into one evening that can’t be missed! IMBIBE is an after-hours library cocktail party where guests enjoy complimentary drinks and snacks while they peruse the stacks of books. This party is space-themed, including a photo booth, moon walking, and giveaways of Packing for Mars, a new book by Mary Roach, who will be there to chat, sign books, and join the party. If skies permit, the San Francisco Amateur Astronomers will have telescopes set up outside to enjoy the night sky!

North Beach Festival
Beer, wine, and music will be filling the streets this weekend in Washington Square Park. Brave the crowds in Little Italy to soak up the sun, grab a drink in one of the many bars, and enjoy the arts and crafts displayed in the square.

This year, the North Beach Festival celebrates its 56th year with juried arts and crafts shows and sales, live stages with alternative music, celebrity chefs, and pizza tossing! The 2011 event will feature over 125 arts and crafts booths, 20 gourmet food booths, three stages of live entertainment, Italian street painting, beverage gardens, children’s activities and the blessing of the animals.

Sunday, June 19
A Clockwork Orange Afternoon
This year marks the fortieth anniversary of the release of Stanley Kubrick’s
still-controversial movie, A Clockwork Orange. To celebrate, performers will stage short readings from the original novel by Anthony Burgess, Clockwork Orange cocktails will be served, and raffle prizes will be given out.

What: A Clockwork Orange Afternoon
When: Sunday, June 19th, 3pm to 5pm
Where: Edinburgh Castle Pub950 Geary St.
Tickets: $7. Droogs and lewdies over 21 please
