If you can dodge the glorious shitshow of Pride for an evening — because I thought it was Pride every day in San Francisco — check out foolsFURY Theater’s weekend performances.

Tonight through Sunday night (see times and order tickets here), foolsFURY will put on a most new and exciting show entitled “(R)evolution X” which promises to be a sort of variety show of oddities.

While this is a work-in-progress performance, since the troupe is performing “X” in preparation for a future show about evolutionary biology and the circus (yeah), there will be a post-performance conversation with the artists.

This eclectic show can be seen at the NOH Space at the Theatre of Yugen (2840 Mariposa St). Expect opera singers and acrobats. I will say no more. Such daffy stuff is better kept a mystery.

As part of the Fury Factory Festival of Ensemble Theater, tonight, Friday 6/24, and tomorrow, Saturday 6/25, the Bay-based company will also host “Anton’s Uncles” at the Jewish Theater (470 Florida St.) at 7 p.m.

Theatre Movement Bazaar will put on this “fresh” and “funny” take on Chekhov’s “Uncle Vanya,” the story of a guy who coulda been Schopenhauer. And who knew Chekhov could be funny?

These weekend shows are by no means your typical night at the “theat-ah.” Instead, the Fury Factory fest offers subversive productions in a casual setting and a sensibility that fits as a perfect companion piece to the Pride weekend events.

Both venues are accessible by BART and can be found not far from the 16th Street station. Look here for tickets and how to save big on bundle packages, as well as for other stuff furiously brewing in the Fury Factory this weekend. You can also check out their Twitter for updates.
