pg&e_blackout(2).jpgThousands of PG&E customers were in the dark this morning due to power outages in San Francisco, a utility spokeswoman said.

The outages were reported between 1:14 a.m. and 1:34 a.m. and they left 4,358 customers without power, spokeswoman Jana Morris said.

The number of customers without power was down to 124 as of 5:15 a.m. and the utility company estimates that all customers will have service restored by 6 a.m., Morris said.

This morning’s outages affected customers in the Western Addition and Nob Hill neighborhoods, as well as portions of Cow Hollow and Russian Hill, Morris said.

The remaining outages are mainly affecting customers in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, she said.

The cause of the outages was not immediately known.
