5:46 AM: A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in San Francisco’s Marina District this morning, police said.

The pedestrian, a 22-year-old man, was struck at Lombard and Pierce streets at about 1:20 a.m., police said.

The vehicle was driving eastbound on Pierce when the crash occurred. The driver, a 30-year-old man, reportedly told officers that he did not see the pedestrian before the crash, police said.

Alcohol was not a factor in the incident and the police department’s hit-and-run detail is investigating, police said.
