sfpd_gunpoint.jpgA man and woman were robbed by two suspects who claimed to be selling a vehicle on Craigslist but instead robbed the victims in a meeting arranged near Candlestick Park in San Francisco on Thursday evening, police said.

The robbery was reported at about 7:35 p.m. on Ignacio Avenue.

The victims, a 50-year-old woman and 28-year-old man, had arranged to buy a car via the classified-ad website.

When the victims arrived, the purported sellers didn’t have a car, but instead pulled out guns and robbed them of cash and their cellphones before fleeing on foot, police said.

Detailed descriptions of the suspects, two men in their 20s, were not immediately available.

Anyone with information about the robbery is encouraged to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
