giants_db017.jpgTwo Bay Area ballparks have been named among the country’s 10 most vegetarian-friendly baseball venues by an animal rights group.

San Francisco’s AT&T Park topped the list, created by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PETA officials said.

The park goes offers baseball fans a variety of meat-free options including vegetarian sushi, burritos, and Portobello mushroom sandwiches, PETA officials said.

“For many Giants fans, the only thing sweeter than a World Series championship is knowing that no animals had to suffer for a tasty ballpark meal,” PETA associate director Chris Holbein said in a statement.

The Overstock.com Coliseum, home of the Oakland Athletics, was sixth on the list, a step up from last year’s honorable mention.

This is the 10th year PETA has compiled the list.
