Fatalities are also down in the Bay Area.

In 2010, by Sunday at 6 a.m., 150 impaired drivers had been arrested, compared to today’s 129. During the same reporting period last year, there was one fatality, compared to zero so far this year, according to the CHP.

The CHP will continue its maximum enforcement efforts, which began Friday at 6 p.m., through midnight Monday.
