Bay Area singles organizations are hosting a ball in San Francisco tonight to raise money for a charity that performs sight-restoring eye surgery in poorer countries throughout the world.

“It will be a lucky Friday the 13th for over 200 blind people if we raise as much as we have in past years at this annual fundraiser,” event producer Rich Gosse said in a statement.

All of the money raised tonight will go to the sight program at The Seva Foundation in Berkeley. The foundation will be able to perform a sight-restoring eye surgery in countries including India, Nepal, and Cambodia for every $50 raised tonight, organizers said.

A $20 donation is requested for tonight’s event, which will start at 8 p.m. at the Westin St. Francis Hotel at 335 Powell St.

Tonight’s ball is co-sponsored by many singles organizations, including Society of Single Professionals, Singles Supper Club, Wine Socials, BayAreaSingles.com, Heart IQ, and more.
