bart_generic1.jpgPlanning on riding BART to or from the East Bay this weekend; how about the weekend after? Regardless of which direction you’re headed in, if you travel through the Transbay Tube expect some delays.

BART will be hard at work fixing and maintaining everyone’s favorite underwater tunnel. They estimate that riders during maintenance hours could experience delays of up to 40 minutes, so be aware!

This weekend, BART will be working Friday night after the last train until 7:30am Saturday morning.

BART will start up work again after the last train Saturday night and work until 2:30pm.

The same thing happens again the next day, as BART works again after the last train Sunday night, finishing at 2:30pm on Monday. (Keep in mind that Monday is Memorial Day, which means BART will also be operating on a Sunday schedule.)

The next weekend, June 4 and 5, will follow the same schedule.

During BART’s work times, if you’re traveling from SF or the Peninsula toward Dublin or Fremont, take the Pittsburg/Bay Point-bound train to get through the Tube. That train goes as far as 12th St. Station in Oakland. After that, you must head downstairs to a special Dublin or Fremont-bound train.

If you’re headed the other way, board the usual SF/Daly City train and get off at 12th St. then head downstairs to transfer to a SF-bound train.
