vote_lede_template.jpgAs SF moves closer to electing a new mayor and entering its latest deficit, the community is left with many questions and uncertainties. Will USF’s Mayoral Candidate Forum lessen the ambiguity? There’s only one way to find out: go and watch them answer questions yourself.

On Thursday, May 5, Michela Alioto-Pier, John Avalos, David Chiu, Bevan Dufty, Tony Hall, Dennis Herrera, Joanna Rees, Phil Ting, and Leland Yee will be answering questions, USF says, on the future of service and engaged citizenship.

Other issues organizers say will be addressed include restoring trust in the government and social trust in the community, as well as revitalizing local democracy.

The forum will be moderated by Corey Cook, assistant professor in the USF Department of Politics and will include questions from youth participating in buildOn, a national non-profit organization, and USF’s Leo T. McCarthy Center for Public Service service programs.

The forum starts at 6 PM and is free to attend.

What: Mayoral Candidate Forum
When: May 5 starting at 6 PM
