suspect.young.jpgSan Francisco police are warning the public about a suspected scam artist who impersonates a celebrity to prey on victims.

Alan Young allegedly impersonates Motown legend Lamont Dozier and uses the celebrity status to dupe victims into wining and dining him, according to police.

Young frequents hotel bars and restaurants and allegedly claims he is there to celebrate his birthday, police said.

There is an active arrest warrant on Young for a parole violation and police claim that he is an escape risk. He has allegedly feigned a heart attack to avoid being arrested.

Young was described as a 57-year-old black man who appears much older, according to police.

He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 185 pounds, with receding graying hair and brown eyes.
