porta-potty.jpegA portable toilet was set ablaze Tuesday afternoon on San Francisco’s Van Ness Avenue and the flames spread to a nearby parked car, a police spokesman said today.

The fire was reported at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 2900 block of Van Ness Avenue near Chestnut Street.

Flames spread to a nearby 2004 silver Nissan Frontier and burned its tailgate, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

The fire was quickly extinguished, and did not injure anyone, police said.

The blaze is considered suspicious, but no arrests have been made in connection with the fire, according to police.
