Outside Lands and Ranger Dave hit us with the 2011, three-day festival roster and at around 9 this morning, naming acts like Phish, John Fogerty and Deadmau5.
OSL managed to get back to a full weekend (last year the festival was two days) and also got some top-notch names. They still seem to be playing it safe by booking bands that other festivals – Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo – already did, while also inviting a couple handfuls of obscure indie groups.
While the list of artists isn’t too inspiring, it’s really hard to complain about a proper music festival taking place right in Golden Gate Park. Outside Lands will be going on August 12-14 for three days of music, wine, food, and forgetting you’re in a city – not in a magical, musical forest. (Those brownies for sale on your walk to the festival gates might do that to you.)
