Students in kindergarten through fifth grade at Longfellow Elementary School in the city’s Crocker Amazon neighborhood will participate in the annual Jump for Heart fundraising event, which the school has been participating in for more than 20 years, organizers said.

About 600 students will be jumping rope to music for the event, which typically raises up to $5,000 each year.

This year several classes have been studying Bhangra and Bollywood-style dancing and about 400 students will perform the dance in a flash mob style.

The fundraiser is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. at the school, located at 755 Morse St.
